Here are some of the famous faces that were in the American Revolution
Paul Revere (December 21, 1734 – May 10, 1818)
Patriot. He is known for his famous "Midnight Ride" when warning the citizens of Lexington that the British were coming. He had help from his partner, William Dawes.
William Dawes (April 6, 1745 – February 25, 1799)
Paul Revere's partner. He helped spread the word that the British were coming.
John Parker (July 13, 1729 – September 17, 1775)
Captain and commander of the minutemen at the battle of Lexington and Concord.
King George III (June 4, 1738 – January 29, 1820)
King of Britain. He was against the idea of independence in America along with his Loyalists. His full name is George William Frederick.
Thomas Paine (January 29, 1737 – June 8, 1809)
Author. He wrote the pamphlet Common Sense to convince the Americans that they should have their own independence. The pamphlet was even presented to King George III.
George Washington (February 22, 1732 – December 14 , 1799)
First President of the U.S. As a general before that, he led his troops in several battles to fight for independence. He was also one of the Founding Fathers.
George Rogers Clark (November 19, 1752 – February 13, 1818)
Soldier and officer. He seized the British ports, and his victories strengthened the American position in the West.
John Paul Jones (July 6, 1747 – July 18, 1792)
American naval officer and Scottish sailor. He raided the British ports, and became a naval hero, even when it looked like he and his troops couldn't win. He is known for saying his famous words, "I have not yet begun to fight."
